How God Used Podcasts for Preparation

For the first three & a half years of our marriage we lived in Atlanta. I understand that there are a few people in the world who actually enjoy living in Atlanta, but honestly we weren't those people. We were there for a purpose - grad school - & many great things came out of it - growing as a couple in a strange, new city, forming lifelong friendships, etc. But we also knew when it was time to leave. Be prepared, I'm about to spiritualize the topic of podcasts...

The Beautiful Dichotomy

The tagline of my blog is "the beautiful dichotomy of a classic-minded millennial mom." This was the easiest way I could describe my life to you in one sentence. The Beautiful Dichotomy is what I call the internal struggle (the Mom Guilt?) of balancing home life & work. None of us just do one thing - even if you are a stay-at-home-mom or a full-time-working-mom with a nanny. We all live in our own dichotomy. My Type B Cloth Diapering Experience

Then J & I sat down to look at the ever-thinning margin in our budget after a move, new house, student loans, impending child & lessening income. I realized I had to become that Home Economist Dave Ramsey talked about, so I got creative. One of the more ambitious endeavors (& the most difficult to talk my husband into) was cloth diapering...

How I Saved Money In Preparation To Stay Home With My Baby

J & I always knew that I wouldn't work full time once we had kids. However, by the time we got there, we had an exorbitant amount in student loans! I also battled feelings of guilt for not "using my degree" - like the amount of time I work dictates the importance of my degree - & then feelings of entitlement that I should be able to do what I want since I survived PT school! Ultimately, I had to go back to the desires of my heart, that longing placed there by God. Because that's the only plan that will work. And He has orchestrated it perfectly, as He always will when we give it over to Him! We still, however, have the responsibility to be a good steward with what He has given us. So I made a point of challenging myself to save as much as possible during my pregnancy...
